The company was established in 2015 by Company Director Gemma Barnsley, who, after 10 years in the industry, decided it was time to bring her passion and vision to life with GLB Property Services. Since then, Gemma and her dedicated team have worked tirelessly to grow the company, building strong relationships with landlords, vendors, and tenants alike. Their commitment to delivering high-quality service has been the cornerstone of GLB’s success, as they continue to expand and serve communities across Coventry, Leamington Spa, and beyond.

GLB initially focused solely on lettings, but as our business grew and client demand increased, we expanded to include residential sales. We have since been cultivating strong relationships with vendors, buyers, and investors, solidifying our presence in the market. We are eager to assist you whether you’re selling, buying, renting, or letting your property. We understand the significance of these moments in your life and are privileged to support you through them.

Over the years, our team has not only grown but become a true GLB family. We collaborate closely, support one another, and cultivate a joyful work environment every day. Our team has shared many milestones, from participating in the Wolf Run for Cancer Research to celebrating GLB weddings. Last year, we were excited to join ‘The Glow Walk’ in Warwick for The Alzheimer’s Society. Gemma BarnsleyCompany Director

Gemma Barnsley

• What is your role at GLB?

Director.

• What is the best part about your job?

I can honestly say the best part of being the founder of GLB is that after over 11 years of running this company - and seven years previous being in the industry - I never get bored of it!
Every day is different and definitely never dull.

I am filled with so much pride when I look at how far we’ve come and the amazing team I have, as well as members who gone onto pastures new, they have all been a massive part of moulding GLB to be what it is today.

• What drew you to the property industry?

When I was 16 I was desperate to be an estate agent, I went from agency to agency in Kenilworth (my home town) asking for a job, but was always advised that I needed experience.

Being an estate agent was as glamorous as an air hostess in my mind at that age, but after being told repeatedly no, I trained to be a journalist instead! In a strange twist by chance, I ended up working for an estate agent in my mid-twenties and by the time I was 31, I decided it was time to go it alone and GLB was born - the best decision I have ever made.

• What would be your dream property?

My dream home has been a vision for a while - without a doubt, a gorgeous Tuscan farmhouse with its own vineyard! That’s the retirement plan!

• What is the best part about your job?

The best part of my job is the variety and the problem-solving. As a Senior Property Consultant, I enjoy dealing with different properties, identifying issues, and finding practical solutions that keep the HMOs safe, compliant, and well maintained. I also enjoy supporting contractors, tenants and landlords to get problems resolved efficiently and to a high standard. Seeing improvements made to properties and knowing that my work has a direct impact on the quality and safety of tenants’ homes is particularly rewarding.

• What drew you to the property industry?

What drew me to the property industry was the combination of practical problem-solving, working with people, and seeing tangible results from my work. I enjoy understanding how properties work, identifying issues, and finding effective solutions to keep them safe and compliant.

• What would be your dream property?

My dream home would be a modern, well-designed property that combines comfort, practicality, and quality. After working with HMOs, I’d appreciate a home with plenty of space, good storage, high-quality finishes, and a well-maintained garden. I’d also want a property where everything has been properly thought through and built to last—although, given my job, I’d probably still find myself noticing every maintenance issue!

• What is the best part about your job?

Being able to confirm a move in date with new tenants after successfully completing referencing.

• What drew you to the property industry?

I started an apprenticeship at 18 and for me, it was the satisfaction of being able to make what can be a stressful time, much calmer and actually enjoyable for clients.

• What would be your dream property?

A large detached house by the coast with a generous garden to watch my daughter grow up in. I’d love to have a forever home that me and my husband can grow old in.

• What is the best part about your job?

The best part of my job is that every day is different. I enjoy making sure properties are well-maintained and looked after. I also like carrying out property inspections because it gives me the opportunity to meet different people and visit a range of different houses.

• What drew you to the property industry?

What drew me to work in the property industry is seeing my dad renovating properties when I was younger. I grew up seeing the work that goes into improving and maintaining houses , which gave me an interest in the industry from an early age.

• What would be your dream property?

My dream property would be a cosy countryside cottage, somewhere peaceful with a big garden.

I enjoy being able to help people take their first step into their next chapter. Every client and every property is different, which makes the role rewarding and exciting!

• What drew you to the property industry?

I was drawn to the property industry as unlike some other industries, you can see the physical outcome of your work and understand the value you’re helping create.

• What would be your dream property?

A barn conversion in the countryside with piglets and goats and horses!

• What is the best part about your job?

The satisfaction of seeing a project I’ve been working on finally go live and seeing the difference it makes — whether it’s preparing a property for market, establishing and implementing processes, or creating marketing material.

• What drew you to the property industry?

My degree has lead me to various roles in various industries, but I have always loved renovations and interiors, so property felt like a natural transition in line with a personal passion, and a new challenge – which I love!

• What would be your dream property?

A Georgian farmhouse with plenty of character and original features - high ceilings and big windows – I would love a walled garden!

• What drew you to the property industry?

Having previously worked in the Legal industry, I wanted a role that used my admin skills, but allowed me to have a more hands on and personal relationship with the clients I assist.

A remote cottage with lots of flowers!
